Nikki Stringer

Nikki has been practicing yoga for many years and became and RYT during the summer of 2014. Nikki loves the healing properties of yoga and enjoys educating students about their bodies and how they can prevent injuries that they may encounter. Nikki feels as though yoga and movement are for everybody no matter the age, shape, or size. Not only does Nikki teach yoga, but she also teaches dance and gymnastics as well.

Lorraine McKean

Lorraine's introduction to yoga began 20 years ago when she made the transition from a classically trained dancer to yoga in desperate need to alleviate pain caused by years of dancing. Yoga not only eased much of the body pain, but also became a guide to a more healthy lifestyle and a way of life for Lorraine.  Now a 200-hour RYT yoga instructor, Lorraine is able to fully embrace the yoga she loves. Outside the yoga studio, you may find Lorraine hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding or enjoying a day on the lake.

Jessica Davis

I have been practicing yoga for over 3 years and received my RYT certification in 2014. When first introduced to yoga, I had some injuries that inhibited my flexibility and range of movement. Practicing yoga helped me to work through these injuries and increase both flexibility and my ROM. I really want other people to know that although they have injuries or do not feel flexible, that they can still have a great yoga practice. I also believe that age shouldn't stand in the way of anyone practicing yoga. Along with teaching yoga, I also like to spend time working on my property and spending time with my grandchildren.

Summer Smith

I am an E-RYT yoga teacher and the owner of Yama Yoga Studio in Canton where I live with my husband and 5 boys. I opened Yama Yoga Studio in 2006 after receiving my 200 HR certification and became a RYS (registered yoga school) in 2010. My style is heavily influenced by Vinyasa Flow, paying close attention to alignment and form. My true love is in the healing arts. Stretch, Nidra and Restorative classes are my specialty. I have a love of yoga philosophy and the tradition of using malas and mantras for transformation. My classes are challenging but playful. I love working in the garden, attending yoga workshops and trainings and spending time with my family and friends. 

Tammy Blakemore

I enjoy all different forms of yoga, but stretch and restorative classes speak to me the most. I love to incorporate oils and meditation into my classes to create a calming experience for everyone in my class to be comfortable and listen to the wisdom of their bodies. I am a very nurturing and caring yogi and often incorporate hands on approaches to my class. At home in Mineola, I enjoy a wonderful life with my husband and two boys. In my free time, I am involved with the local Salvation Army and enjoy gardening, cooking, and keeping a clean home. Namaste!
This class is for the new student. In this class we focus on basic Sun Salutations, stretching, alignment, and breath work. It is more strenuous than yoga stretch and you will raise your heart rate.
